Shocking the Donkeys
the gay marriage that rocked the cradle of civilisation
Menni is a feisty Greek grandmother whose dearest wish is for her only grandson, Petros, to return
to Kalados, the island of his birth, marry a suitable local girl, and settle down. So when Petros comes
back to be best man at his old childhood friend's wedding, she seizes her chance to matchmake.
Her dream suffers a severe setback when she finds out that Petros is gay and sharing his life with
Alex, a New York photographer, who is also visiting the island. Her plans to get rid of Alex backfire
when the gloves come off and the boys declare marriage on the community. Now Menni has to try
and stop this unorthodox wedding to save the honour of her family and her island's traditions.
